Style to me is simply the way a dog looks standing on a bird or it's way of going in the field. Without intensity, style is pretty, but won't make me sit up to tall. Style when running is simply the dogs way of going. Hard for me to put a finger on it, but some dogs just look better going than others. My Squirt looks better going than my Bodie but watch them alone and both look good. Yet Squirt will divert my attention from Bodie usually. Some dogs just lumber along, Bodie does not lumber, he simply doesn't run smooth enought compared to Squirt. But a dog with intensity and style makes me sit up and watch for fear of missing something. The dog that carries that over into the bird work, almost to the point of recklessness, get's my complete and undivided attention. On the other hand the dog that runs with style and intensity but points its birds in a so-so manner, maybe good style but no intensity or the other way around, I lose intrest in.
I think both dogs have good style and intensity on birds and will only get better but, when they run, Bodie looks like he's got his after burners kicked in while Squirt looks like he's floating on a magic carpet. I'm not sure which is really the fastest but Squirt does it with less effort!
