New Blackhawk female

Post by Pointers_31 » Mon Jun 23, 2008 11:48 am

Here is my new dog that I just picked up yesterday! When I got home I had to see what she could do. Here she is pointing a pigeon we put out and Justin Mac working on backing with his with his dog Max(who's a bird finding machine!). She seems to be a nice dog so far, but the "relationship" is still young! She will need some tuning up from what I've seen, but I don't think it will take much....hopefully!

Gorgeous dog. Wish I had some color like that with my 2. They are both orange and white. Color aint everything but if you are gonna hunt you may as well do it with a dog who looks like her.

I like the head on the dog in the background better, the blackhawk dogs head looks like a cross to a walker hound. maybe its just the angle of the photo.

Good luck with her though I'm sure she'll be a good dog
currently two shorthairs, four english pointers, one Brittany, one SPRINGER a chihuahua and a min pin lol

I will have to agree I like a boxier head better myself.

It is not the angle of the pic, for the most part all the dogs out of this cross have the same narrow head, with few exceptions. We also have a daughter of her and Hitman that is a carbon copy of her.

Here is a pic of my Blackhawk pup. Head is not narrow, but not boxy either. It's just right. :D

Blackhawk x Guard Rail daughter = NAVHDA bred. NA PII 103 at 4.5 mos.

Looks like that top dog could have been a pirate with that eye patch. Nice looking dogs.

I have seen 5 or 6 of these dogs from that particular cross, but different litters and they all have cookie cutter heads of eachother. I also like the blockier head on a dog, but with a dog like her you can't turn down the opportunity to have her in your kennel because of the shape of her head.
