Re: With Holding Placements
Doug I don't believe we have ever met but what you say makes a lot of sence. We do this because we all feel we have the best dog, unfortunitly they are not allways "the best dog", but when you stop trying to be the best at anything you do you become one of the also rans! And as was stated, when you give out titles, as the AKC does, they become worthless. Work to get better not mediocre, make those titles worth something. This game is not perfect but it is an honest and fair game, everyone has a shoot! I do resent people trying to change the standards because my dog doesn't run that big enough or he can't find birds in the heat, or this ground is to hard, or I don't like my brace mate or, or ,or ,or, give me a brake. If you work at it like the rest of use you will achieve, excuss are only that an excuss on you own inabilty. If you are happy in hunt tests play that game, if you like gun dog play that game, if you want to compete at what ever nationals great, regardless it does not happen on is own.
That is all I have to say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would be doing a disservice to the many great shooting dogs, if I did not say that there is also a National Shooting Dog Champion in the pointer world, still there is only one National Champion, that is the one crowned at Ames.
Doug makes a lot of sense, you ought to listen to him, he says it much better than I can.
Now I do not need a judge to tell me I have a good dog, I know my dogs, I am not looking for affirmation, and wouldn't be there if they werem't nice, I am just tryng to beat those that show up, not some standard in a judge's mind.
Read the AFTCA Guidelines, and tell me if the GSP judges are meeting them? If not, are they making up their own rules?

I really wish that I had been in on this one from the start, I try to stay away when they grow that fast and most of the time I do not even open them.
I read most of it and it has been a great one.

Nice read.
Mr, Amatulli please tell Steger hi for me next time you see him, this topic would really get him going.

I have been trying to say that exact thing since I started playing dog games. Thank you!
