Vegas had a pretty good spring

Post by SFK » Mon Jun 08, 2009 1:36 pm

Forgive me as I am not much of a bragger, but I was looking at the ribbons my dogs got over this past spring and it just sunk in yesterday how good of a spring Vegas (Magnum's Shake Rattlinroll) had.

She got 5 First placements and 3 Second placements in just this spring season. Of those 1sts, one was a National Amateur Shooting Dog Championship; the others were 30 dog, 29 dog, 18 dog, and 16 dog stakes. The seconds were in fairly large stakes also. Besides the NASDC, she got her FC in that time also. Ya don't realize it as it is going on, but that is one heck of a spring she had. I couldn't be more proud of her.

That doesn't come along very often so you should brag a little when you get the chance. When you stop and look you do realize that is a heck of a record for just one year and not a life time.

Congrats!!!

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

Nice work! I would say that you would be doing your dog and injustice if you didn't brag on her a little.

Thanks folks.

She is a great dog and Wendy (CoOwner) and I are really lucky to have her. I knew she was doing good this spring but it just cracked me upside the head Sunday on how good she actually did. I tend to look at things one run at a time & when I was gathering the pile up it hit me like a ton of bricks. Figured I'd better take her out and, a pic and enjoy it since something like this doesn't happen all the time.

Yes, she is out of Magnum's Touch of Gold X BLK's Sundance Shaker.

WOW... with that kind of spring, I would have taken a 30 second commercial during the Super Bowl! That's fantastic. I hope it never stops for you... best of luck with the future trials....

Congrats are more than in order. It is nice that I now know you as well.

Matt - I've bred Nike if you're interested. I have to disclose that the pups will not be red though so you'll have to come over to the dark side if you want one.

Congrats Art & Wendy~

I just saw the post on Ms. Vegas. We knew early on she was/is a good one with lots of years left to go. She's sure carrying on her daddy NFC/FC Magnum x momma FC Shaker's genes and names. Wish she was still here but things happen and it looks like for what reasons were for the best (as you all can well see).

Our best wishes in the future for you guys and hope you'll keep us posted on all of her accomplishments. ;0) Kick some butt this fall and hope your bringing her to KS for the AGD and OGD Nationals. Will love to see if she remembers the open spaces and hills of the Flint Hills of Kansas.

Take care and have a great summer, know Vegas is @ home with Wendy on the couch. lol. TTYS Art and Wendy.

And Congrats on a super Spring season, you go Ms. Vegas!!!!

Yes V is taking a bit or R & R at home right now, sitting on the couch with Wendy, eating ice cream.

I think the plan, at the moment, is to head out to KS in October.

Oh and BTW I'm sure she'll remember the Filint Hills. Everytime I run her I can see that early training you guys gave her!

I would like to thank the following:
Darren Carter for breeding such an amazing animal.
Magnum and Shaker for providing her with good genes.
Nancy Coffelt for giving me the opportunity to own her.
Keith and Robbi Gulledge for all their hard work and help.
My ex-husband, Bob, even though our divorce held her career up financially and otherwise I appreciate your help with things.
Mrs. Terstage, Art's Mom, for taking such good care of my Baby Girl.
Art for being an awesome friend and helping me out when I needed it the most. Is there any money left in your bank account after this season?
Fellow field trialers who have seen her performances and appreciate her talents.
Vegas for being my "Baby Girl." It is a blessing to have her in my life.

No ice cream yet but she is enjoying her days at Doggy Daycare and snuggling at night with me.

Happy field trialing everyone!

Wendy
