Well the Dalin X Jersey pups just turned 1. Thought I'd create a new topic for updates on the littermates. That way we don't keep posting in the for sale section. Here is a link to the original litter announcement. http://www.gundogforum.com/forum/viewto ... 58&t=14754

Keep the updates coming. :D

off topic, but I have a hard time posting one picture and you just posted 200 in the same post. Very impressive!

In the late 80's Ch Sebrof's Chief Bill and Ch Sebrof's Alpha Chief both had multiple championship wins in NBHA and AFTCA walking trials. They were littermate brothers sired by Ch Miller's Chief. In the early 90's Ch Casey Rail and Ch Shasta Rail had multiple NBHA championships, they were littermates, Casey a male and Shasta a female. They were sired by Carter's Guard Rail and their grandsire was Ch Guard Rail.

Photo bucket.. Sign up for a free account. Sometimes the ads get annoying, but it makes it really easy to add photos to the forum. Load the photo or photos. Copy the img code and paste it into the forums. It is simple and works great. I have a couple other pay to play photo services but I still find photobucket the easiest for posting photos on the forum.

Pretty cool! I'll get some pix of Muddy in the next day or so. Was out "playin" with Daddy Dalin today doing multiple flushes of Pigeons and Quail, shooting the Quail for retrieves, getting ready for Grouse seasons. He just seems to make me smile every time I take him out to "play" :D

85 ibs.!!! I read that on my phone last night, but the pics were too small (on my old-tech phone) to tell what he looked like. I was half thinking he must be a little chunky, . Looking at the pics at full size this morning he looks to be in fine shape. . A very nice looking dog.

Daisy May weighed in this morning at 52-53 lbs. and I'm guessing she is pretty close to the same height as Jersey give or take a half inch.

If we are talking about exceptional littermates. Ch. Bridges Lake Pat, Ch. RJ's Hardcopy and Ch. Dogwood Meg are all littermates! Pat and Hardcopy went Ch. and RU-Ch in the amateur invitational and Meg won the open invitational. Quite an impressive litter.

Sorry for the confusion Vagas.

Last year there was a litter advertised by Bruce (AHGSP) in the Dogs For Sale section here on the forum. The litter was a breeding that was done between Bruce's avatar dog Dalin and another forum member's (Mike's Jersey) dog, Jersey (who was bred by Bruce as well). The litter announcement had the topic subject of; Exceptional Shorthair Gundog Litter.

Over the last year, several of us who had purchased pups from the litter had been occasionally posting updates on our pups in the original Exceptional Shorthair Gundog Litter thread ( linked above ). One day I noticed that evertime we posted updates, on this litter, that had all been sold for some time. We ended up pushing down and eventually off the main page litters of dogs that were still looking for new homes. So the next time that I had a little spare time, I started this topic for people to post updates on the "Exceptional Littermates". All those pics at the start of the thread are pics of the littermates plus a few of the Sire and Dam.

Thats not to discourage anybody and everybody from posting here. Go right on ahead. I just thought I should try to clear things up a bit....Clear as mud now huh. :D

Just curious, it was mentioned one dog was 85lbs. How is his endurance in steep terrain? Does he burn out fast compared to his smaller littermate? Tear pads? That just seems like a giant GSP.

So far he acts like any other 1 year old. Full of plenty of gas. I will be pheasant hunting with him in Nov I will let you know about his endurance then. I don't think energy will be a problem.

We had 1 of the pups that is pretty close to the same size and weight, not a littermate but same Motherline, out in South Dakota for Sharpies and Chickens in September and according to the Garmin he ran somewhere in the neighborhood of 80-100 miles in 4 days. He ran in the neighborhood of 400-800 yards out most of the time and never showed signs of slowing and was in good shape at the end of the week as far as pads and general wear and tear. I was actually quite pleased with how he did, as conventional wisdom says he shouldn't have the stamina and go that a smaller Shorthair would. I'm certainly not looking to breed Shorthairs this big, but it seems this Motherline will throw me a pup like this every so often. Mother Natures curve ball if you will....

Angus is long and lean and weighs around 55 pounds right now. I don't have a good picture on this computer, but this is one of my daughter and him. I will try to get some more pictures of him posted in the next few days.

Ditch, daisy looks great. We are suppose to go hunting in Kansas the day after thanksgiving. Abby is also a great pointer and had at least 12 wild pheasant under her belt. I'm still working on her retrieving skills with FF, I don't want to give her too much pressure in FF but I think she is getting the idea already. Last night, she finally picked up a pheasant we shot last week for training. :)

This is a picture of Toby and my son John at a Junior hunt test. Toby does great on everything but the retrieve. If it is a tennis ball in backyard he is a stud. But if it is a bird he will bring it back within about 15 feet and take off to hunt. I am getting ready to begin the force fetch procedure.
