M.F. FERGUSON OPEN SHOOTING DOG & NORTHWEST OPEN DERBY CLASSICS
Ardmore, OK—The December weather cooperated for the three days required to complete these stakes, with judges Pat Morgan of Arcadia, OK, and Conrad Plevnic of Terrel, TX, presiding over a field of 22 shooting dogs and 11 Derbies. Birds were either scarce or just hard to find at Lake Murray, but the top three dogs were successful.

First was Broadway Knockout, handled by Chuck Taylor; second was Down Under, handled by Frank Ford, and third went to Kansas Express Rob, also handled by Taylor.

The Derby winner Quail Alley Rose had bird work, and is owned by Kenneth Raney and handled by Ford. Second place, on a good race, was Joe’s Buck, owned by Gary Young and handled by Dan Hendrickson. Third placed Sadie also had bird work. She was handled by Tony Falley for Sage Creek Kennels.
