FC BDK's Tobadforu "Tobad"

It is with my deepest sorrow that let you know I had to put down yesterday @ K-State my buddy/pal/friend FC BDK's Tobadforu.

Tobad's littermate Rocky of Doug Spencers was put down a couple weeks earlier. What a shame for 2 young boys (would of been 7 in a few months) to have to leave this earth. Not sure on the results yet and won't know for a couple weeks as to and for sure what was the problem.

He'll me greatly missed by myself and I'm really sorry I didn't get more litters on the ground out of this great animal. We'll have at least 3 from his litter w/ BDK's Rags To Riches that we'll be campaigning so that will be nice to watch them grow and progress.

RIP silly boy I'll miss you bunches.

As an owner to a littermate of ToBad I know exactly how you feel, my dog Cooper could be one of the best bird dogs I have owned and not only that but the most friendly dog that only wants to please whoever he is with. With 2 of his littermates now gone I will make sure I cherish everyday I spend with this great dog. Sorry to here this Robbi and please keep me posted as to what you find out.

Well we received a little bit of news today and it looks like I did the very best thing I could for my boy. When they opened him up he had a very larger perferated (Opened into the abdimon) ulcer this was found where the stomach empties off into the intestines. (This would of been a very very hard place for repairing) they also found a bunch of smaller ulcers all over inside as well. Of course they sent off a bunch of stuff and we'll know more of the results of what caused all of this in a couple weeks. The vet that worked with him this past Friday said "she was still amazed at how strong and outgoing he was for being so so terriably sick". She and the student vet fell in love with him. They were both very informative and very comforting giving me all the time I needed/wanted to spend with my boy.
We're hoping that with the results in a couple weeks we'll know if it was indeed caused by the Rimadyl that Tobad has been on for a little over 3 yrs. I had just changed him over to another med that wasn't supposed to be so harsh. We shall see and are anxious to see as one of our house dogs (Harley the rottie) has been on it almost the same amount of time and wondering if he's not starting to show some of the same effects. Or she said the ulcers could also be caused by tumors/or cancer. Like I said we'll see what the results show us in a few weeks.
Jerry please do cherish every minute with Cooper and Linda if you have Rumor @ your place and she's not in CA with Doug still please please cherish those kids. Jerry I know Sean said Cooper is an awesome bird dog and just fantastic w/ everyhing including his loveable personality. I wish I had another one out of that litter but none would/could replace my Tobad's. He's definately missed everyday all day long but he'll NEVER be forgotten.
I'll post when I get the full and other results.
Thank you everyone for you kind words and support you all are very kind.

Robbie,

You have my deepest condolences. It's tough losing one that has lived so long as to become geriatric...even tougher to lose one in his prime.
