Its been 8 days since my Gsp Flash passed away. An its still difficult for me to talk to other people about him passing. On Oct. 12 he suffered from a stroke and I thought I was going to have to say goodbye to him that day. I took him into the vet to see if he could do anything for him. Later that day he was improving he was always such a strong dog. I took him home the next day and he seemed to be improving a little bit everyday just a little disorriented. On Oct. 18 my folks were watching him while I was away for the day and he had been in and out of his kennel threw out the day. My dad went to let him out late in the afternoon and he had passed away on his pillow. Whats been the hardest is I wasn't there that day to be with him. I had him for over half my life I was only 14 years old when I got to go pick him up. It seems like it was only yesterday. I've cherished my 14 years and 6 months that you were with me ol pal. I really know the meaning of mans best friend cause you were my best friend. I read a lot of the tributes on here before I wrote this and I really feel for all of you that have lost there buddies.
Rest In Peace Flash

Very sorry to hear this...we are losing a lot of good ones this fall.
Just having gone through this last Friday I know there is nothing I can tell you that will make you feel better, especially since he was your first one.
You and your family are in our prayers.
Godspeed Flash...may you be chasing roosters in the endless covers up in the sky.

Thanks for all the kind replies everyone. Sure is tough letting go. Its just not the same around here with out a dog just way to quiet and I miss seeing that short stub tail wagging back and forth. Lately I been really looking into getting another pup but I think I'll hold off til this spring. Been looking online here an talking to a few people and looks like I should be able to get some of the same lines that he had.

Let me send you a complimentary copy of Bill at Rainbow Bridge. Please take a look at my post above yours "If your dog has died." Others on this forum have received my book. These are promotional copies, and it's how we spread the word. But I believe you will find it to be a comfort. -Dan
