housing birds

hello all. just curios if anybody would know if building a pen for quail,better to be off the ground like a rabbit hutch or on the ground as chickens would be?also general size requirements for 10-15 birds?thank you for any advice.

If you search for how to raise quail there is a lot of info on the web. I have found plans for a Johny house and anything else you may need to know its all there on the web.

24'' X 36'' would be plenty big for only 10 - 15 birds. I would build it with a wire mesh floor. Being you are not needing to hold a lot of birds the pen can be small and portable and you can put it where ever you want. If you want to recall your birds it is not going to work having it in the air.
