Best way to keep flies off dogs?
The title says it all.
Re: Best way to keep flies off dogs?
Try 50/50 spray of apple cider vinegar see if it helps. Use a soaked paper towel on the head though.

Fly spray.
Keep the kennel/yard area clean and dry to reduce fly populations.

Advantix, not advantage, helps repel flies. Bronco fly spray helps but really needs daily application, farnam fly's off did nothing for our flies. I fed garlic from Springtime, for a few years and it did help, especially with the advantix also, but takes about 4 weeks after starting the garlic to notice less flies.
I currently have another horse product that is working well. I have started to spray the shad fabric over the kennels and gravel all around the kennel also, and it's going fairly well. I have to look up the name. Nicest smelling bug repellant I have ever smelled. Which is to say I don't MIND the smell, but don't like it really.
This may seem obvious but it does make a big difference. Clean the kennels before the sun is up in the morning, with water also, and keep scooped poo away from the kennels.

Bronco's formula has changed and it should not be used on dogs.
Never try to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and annoys the pig.

Keep the dog from peeing all over himself like mine does  Those little gnats are all over him all the time because he always stinks like pee!

Buy those fly bags at Wally World as well. I have one on each corner of the kennel. It seems to reduce the flies time in the kennel because the attractant in the bags when mixed with water.
