It is a sad note that the preacher of silent pointing dog training, Bill West, past away Thursday. A note of his passing appeared yesterday at the uplandbirddog.com site as well as at the fieldtrialpointer.com site.
A very fine article on Bill West / Bill Gibbons and silent training orginally appeared as a feature article in a Xmas issue of the American Field.
It may be read online at the uplandbirddog.com site...

Crap! I learned a lot from the videos and second-hand through people that had spent time with him. I'd always hoped to meet him myself and thank him. Crap, crap, crap. Life is just too short.

Greg I wish you could have met Bill West, you would have liked him.. He was a great friend to me. His way with dogs influenced me and changed my way of thinking about training... Bill was in his 80's and really lived a good life. He was also a good christian, he loved the lord.. I know now he suffers no pain and is in a better place.. Bill encourage people and dogs to be thier very best, he touched alot of people in his life journey and had friends all over the U. S. He was the real deal that's for sure.
