LD swab tests...

Post by Ahumphers91a » Sun Jul 22, 2012 4:10 pm

Does anyone have the web-site or email to get some swab tests for the LD test? I had gotten some before and lost the tests when I moved. I can't find the email address anywhere. Thanks, Adam

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and annoys the pig.

That's in there, like the second page. $75 is still the price on the test.

It's a blood test, by the way. Mail the samples on a Monday.

Oh, thought it was a swab test...ok. I will take the paperwork to my vet and have the blood drawn and sent in asap.

You can just collect cheek swabs yourself but if you wanna pay for a vet to draw blood you can do that too. If you are doing a litter of pups you can just send in the tail tips as well...hopefully you are just doing adult prospective breeding prospects before you bred them...??

No, the female I have is a daughter of the female bred to clown. I'm not sure who he got her from, I assume so. I thought he said he had her tested long ago and came back good. I just don't want to breed my female and have people telling me what I already know..lol.

I didn't do the breeding, my freind did. I'm not sure what he's done with his female. No big deal though, she only had one pup. He will be tested within the month.

Im sure there is. It is probably private due to the testing facility.
A few of us have a pretty good database to go off of.

Huge controversy on the LD on the yahoo groups NWFTC page, as it has been posted..........One guy begged another guy to use his stud dog, apparantly the gyp owner was clueless about LD and claims the stud dog owner fessed up to knowing his stud dog was a carrier ................. after the fact..............So you can imagine the backbiting/namecalling that went on. 40% of the litter had to be put down............................ doublin up on the bad juju nets the heebie jeebies.

Kind of sad, because there was a CHF grant and the information will never be put up on OFA due to the animosity between that organization and Penn. I guess you just have to be special to be privy to the details.
