Look Dad

Had Jerz out running the other night. Heard a commotion in the cattails, out pops Jerz with a muskrat, just as happy as could be!

Lol! I love it! Ya never know what they'll get into... My pointer came out of a hole with a chipmonk latched ahold of her cheek when she was a pup... still has the scar & still holds a grudge! When I was a kid my Grandad had an old Scotty dog that would bring home woodchucks and lay 'em on the back porch... My Grandmother would yell at my Grandad about his smelly dog! 8) Good stuff! I wish I had a picture of that old Scotty now! I love the way your dog is lickin' his chops!
Heaven goes by favor. If it went by merit, you would stay out and your dog would go in.

Hey Ryan,

Colleen and I took 8 of the dogs out for a run tonight and lo and behold, Hellion comes beating feet past us and Colleen screams "She's got a muskrat in her mouth" Must be that time of year!! LOL

We use to live out in the desert in Sothern California and our Dalmation use to bring us home Jack rabbit pieces, birds and lizards!! Her favorite thing to do was go into the desert and look for lizards, she would hunt down places they would hude and wait for us to lift it up. It was quite entertaining. I miss that dog!!

She's been sprayed three times so far, all the first year we had her, knock on wood those will be the last. I've learned that she has completely different body language when it comes to mammals and birds. If I see her 'mammal' body language I call her off immediately. Last summer I found her and she was nose to nose with a badger, never got hurt, thank god. I called her off and then the badger proceeded to chase me for about 20 yards, he was gaining ground on me, I was freaked out, I think I filled my shorts. I'm glad he quit chasing. I ran for a 1/2 mile straight back to the vehicle. Quiet possibly the scariest thing I've ever been involved in.

Hahaha.....too funny! I thought about stopping this past Monday on our way back from Bully Pulpit but it was getting late. How's the new pup doing? She's a looker. Hope all is well.

I'm thinking of giving ND sharpies a try this year, hopefully opening weekend. As much as she loves fur porkies worry me. On our way to Medora this week we saw a ton of dead porkies on the road. A lot of roadkill in general (coons, skunks, porkies, mink, beaver, coyote, pheasants) way more than around here.
