Arizona GSP breeders/kennels

Post by griffey2012 » Wed Sep 12, 2012 7:06 pm

Can anyone recommend a quality breeder/kennel in Arizona or where I could find more information on it. Thanks!

I have no experience with them, but Garbonita is one I would check out.

For a GSP in Arizona Don Lee would be my only choice. He has some very nice dogs.

He's not in Arizona but Southern NM. Terry Chandler and Rugerhiem kennels. Great guy and very nice dogs.

My little dark Shooting Dog is a Sly grandson and very much resembles him. I am not impressed with the bottom side of the pedigree that produced Two's momma, but Sly was a heck of a dog.

I love the expertise when it comes to breeders and dogs. People who have only been in the game for such a short time with little knowlege about the dogs they recommend or people who have them. There's alot of really good breeders in Az. if you look. Terry Chandler is a friend of mine and has some nice dogs. Dogs of every dimention and hunter or trialer.

It's better to drive to NM. and see really good dogs. Besides Terry's name was brought up. Besides I know more about that part of the country than you'll ever know.

It's the internet! It's accelerated the learning curve of everything to where relative expertise is only a matter of a few clicks away!! Don't even have to know, have met, or even have seen someone's dogs nowadays to develop a pretty expert opinion on 'em!! Nowadays one can pretty much become an expert at most things with a good night of Googling. Acquiring firsthand knowledge and experience is really just outdated and cumbersome not too mention if you can't produce a www link to it at the end of the day, who's gonna believe ya'!! You do have to be careful with the internet boards that the "famous" guy you claim to be buddies with doesn't get on there and blow yer cover!!

I'm not sure why this topic got so chippy. I'm pretty confused, was this comment aimed at me?

Both Don lee and Garbonita produce nice dogs but play different games. My husband brought a female of ours out to Don Lees years back to breed to Slick. Sly was just starting his derby at that time. Howie spent about a week with Don watching his run and was very pleased. Garbonita dogs, Howie has seen some run at the invitational several times and enjoyed those also. Either one would be a good choice .
