one in a million shot?
one in a million shot?
So the story goes like this. I was driving the Ranger down the trail and look to my right on here is a nice ruff standing on a dead fall log. I keep driving down the trail and now going back to stalk him. I grab my gun and my dog and head back towards the bird. the bird flushes to my left and on the second shot it drops. Now I am about to get ready to cook it up and here in the bird was the wad from the shell buried right in the bird. Didn't even notice it while breasting it out that night. Funny, never had that happen before. Anyone else? Not sure if its a one in a million shot but I bet that I couldn't duplicate if I tried.

Heaven goes by favor. If it went by merit, you would stay out and your dog would go in.

I think it is a sign you shot to quick but hard to let a grouse get too far away and still see them.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!
Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

Pretty cool. I have never had that happen and I've shot a lot of birds.

A limit on the strap is nice, but the kill has nothing to do with tradition.

Never had that happen but my hunting partner has put the wad through a pheasant. I told him it would have been cheaper to just whack the bird with the end of his barrel and save the shell.

Not to the bird that has a wad go through it!mobeasto123 wrote:Wad are far less toxic than lead.. !!!!!
Re: one in a million shot?
I'am lucky to just have some shot hit a bird, no less the wad.
