GDF Shirts
GDF Shirts
Ok, I'm toying with the idea of GDF shirts again. I'm working on a design, but I have one question. If there were a headshot on the back of a shirt along with the text gun dog forum, would the breed of dog determine whether or not you would buy one?
Breed would not be a deciding factor, but it would be nice with a choice.

I'll try some out. Send head pics to grant@gundogforum.com if you've got a good one...
Why not go with a silhouette of a pointing dog, then just have different tail lengths? That would solve the problem for the distinction between all short-coated pointing dogs. Add in one silhouette of a setter to cover all varieties, one of a wirehair, and one of a brittany.
In hindsight, that may be just as much of a hassle.
If you play it right, though, by limiting the definition of the pic, a vizsla headshot could also cover a weim, a gsp could also cover a pointer...
I'd probably buy one anyway. Breed choice would be nice, but not make-or-break.

I'd buy one regardless. Just saying the option would be nice, since I already have the GDF sticker on my car with a GSP on it.....

That looks pretty cool. Would be better if it was a GSP on there. I would buy one anyway.

Unless you're a GSP person.... The ears and stop are pretty different. The muzzle of the GSP is usually heavier also.Ayres wrote: a gsp could also cover a pointer....

I agree with big steve. What could be more beautiful than a Setter head? You would sell more to the public with a Setter head. But since this is mainly a GSP forum you would sell more with GSP's on the back to the forum. Really what's the difference between the (ears ) head of a GSP, Viz, or Pointer?

The ears on pointers are shorter and their stop is more pronounced. The Weim, V and GSP are close, but the EP is totally different.llewgor wrote:Really what's the difference between the (ears ) head of a GSP, Viz, or Pointer?

It can't be too much different or there wouldn't be all the discussions about the breeding of some of the dogs of the past. I remember just a few years ago there was a big discussion going where they showed just the head of pointers and GSPs and no one could pick which were which. I too think you can tell some of them but there are many you just can't tell the difference in.

As just a thought why not use a breed that people will easily recognize
Breeds that are easily recognized are the Pointer, Setter and GSP.
Being this is a predominantly GSP dominated site why not use a Pointer or Setter or both. It might help others distiguish that this forum is about GunDogs.
FWIW, I would like to see at least 2 shirts available one with pointing dogs and one with Flushing/Retrieving breeds. All in hopes that it will encourage those of a different training background to join in and give the advise needed on certain subjects. It could also expand to new disscussions and topics not already discussed here.
Grant I will buy one.
I do prefer a white 50%cotton/50%polyester Pocket tee with image on back and the forum URL on the front
Wait thats proably to much to ask

good point. It will also help those who don't know what a setter is.

Well, I know there are subtle differences. That's why I prefaced that comment with "by limiting the definition of the pic," meaning don't put in a lot of detail. It's hard enough to tell some breeds apart with a glance as it is, let alone when you don't get a real sharp image showing all the different details.Greg Jennings wrote:Unless you're a GSP person.... Ok,
I've done some web work and have some extra change now. I'm getting a *real* artist to do the artwork, and he needs some pics. I know some of you have sent them to me before, but lets try it one more time. I need *high resolution* head, pointing, and action shots. Send them to grant@gundogforum.com asap! We'll be doing a multi breed shirt....

I would buy one no matter what the breed. Maybe each year it's a different breed and everyone would be happy sooner or later?? Maybe "GDF" in the middle and different breeds surrounding the border. Each dog is on point and you could do just about every breed. Either way, it's still cool to have a shirt
Put some ground under the dogs...
Been working on this what do yall think, of course instead of all GSPs we could do one of each breed. I wanted the barn to be the background and if we could find a pic with an old shotgun and a couple of birds hanging i beleive it would look good. It looks kinda rough now but with a little pro work i believe it would look good.
I put that photo in there because it's the most appealing one I have left. It wouldn't matter the breed to me.hubweims wrote:what about the weims??????
OOP's I lied. Other than this I have a Brittany that looks pretty good.
