A Gun Dog Forum Event, Maybe?

Post by grant » Mon Oct 18, 2004 1:38 pm

It would be cool to have a Gun Dog Forum event of some sort. Like a fun trial/hunt/cookout??? It would probably happen here:

Its a plantation in N. GA.

Would you attend?

It would have to be sometime during the summer I would expect, in order for many people to be able to attend. It might be a bigger incentive if it were also planned somewhat around a local field trial.

Grant,

You might want to think of starting regional events or get togethers.

I had a successful one at my old place for another board, we had 46 people show up. A great chance to meet new folks that are as nutty as we are about the mutts. The weekend lasted three days with cookouts dog training at my facility and a whole lot of fun!

I am in Oklahoma, and would be willing to host a training day for anyone interested. We have plenty of land, birds and training doo-dads!

Sounds like a great idea.

I am probably the only "out West" member. So chances are, I would be unable to attend.

I say do it. I'll have my own training day while you guys have all the fun together. Then I will relive it through the pictures you could take.

I'd love to, but that plantation is a good 6-7 hour drive from me. Unfortunately gun dog events in the Southeast are all either really far away (closest is usually Walhalla, SC, near the GA-NC-SC border) or it's just too expensive after factoring in the price of the event, gas and lodging.

But I would most definitely be interested in details if something were to be planned.

Maybe if there was something on the West Coast. There's quail in AZ, but we aren't against driving if we can keep it to about 6 hours or less (southern CA comes to mind).

The Ohio Connection would love to come down for a hunt in Georgia. We would like to do that sometime anyway. I went to the link you have and it looks like the prices are right.
