A potential transfer opportunity is looming on the horizon and I'm a little curious. What's up out there?

Between UW and wyo tech, lots of students.
Hope you don't mind wind and winter weather.

I'm alright with winter (lived in east Idaho/western Wyoming and loved it). Wondering if anyone knows about bird hunting opportunities, trial clubs, etc? Also just curious about the community, local economy, general quality of life stuff.

Beautiful country with few humans to spoil it!

Put a wind turbine on your house, and you'll provide electricity for the whole neighborhood, at least in the spring!!

At 7000 feet, you will get a bit chilly in the wintertime.

Sage grouse aplenty: http://www.gundogmag.com/2010/09/23/des ... use2_0810/ and hundreds of thousands of square acres with public access. Big, big country and may require you to drive a little.

Bobbie Richardson is a big-time trialer, hunter, and GSP breeder out of Cheyenne: If anyone could tell you about bird hunting and dog trialing in Wyoming, it would be her - give her a call: http://www.prairiewindgsps.com/index.html

I really enjoyed the time that I spent in Laramie and Cheyenne, it is some beautiful country but I would bet it can be brutal in the winter, I was there for about five weeks from July into August. The weather was mostly awesome during that time.

Went hunting there last year - lots of big game opportunity as well as birds. We hunted sage grouse and blue grouse - had a ball. pronghorn and mule deer and elk are abundant enough! Fishing is phenomenal. People were friendly on our trip out there.
