Need a Chukar - Omaha

Hi guys.

Just wondering if anyone in/around Omaha had a Chukar I could use with my pup for a couple days. I'm going to run her in her first Am Walking Derby and was hoping to mix it up (she's only been on pigeons) prior to her hitting the field....thanks!

Can't help you out on chukar, but I know a guy down at Bennett(south of Waverly) that has quail---in small quanities & this time of year he'll probable get $5 to $6. Most of the clubs that use Branched Oak use Bob white as their planted birds. The guys name is Clayton Maahs--if you want to get ahold of him his e-mail address is:

There will be a guy in CB Iowa that will have chukar in the Fall--but he only has late summer/early fall birds.

Best use quail, it is what they use in the trial. My guy is out but I will see if I can get some. I need to introduce some pups and start a year old on the shot.

A derby only has to establish point. Bet your pup stands the first game bird just not for long. At least if it has been standing pigeon's.

They have used chuckars in the past at the trial Jeff is going to. Although I wouldn't worry about that.Give Bob a call and see where he gets them.

Your dog will do just fine.
