Old Timers Brag

Post by DGFavor » Mon Nov 18, 2013 2:59 am

Geez, was going thru my website trying to update some stuff - it's sadly sinking in my pack is old and done their thing. We had a pretty good run last 10 years or so with Rocky, Stitchy, Bugsy and Trixie - thought I'd brag 'em up a bit realizing now that the HBV competition hopes are pinned to a little, nutty, white longtail of my wives. May not be much to post on the brag board for awhile!!

Actually my wife's dog Jane is doing a real nice job. Spent the summer at Camp Dunfur (which has been the key to success of the HBV stubtail operation) and is looking pretty dang good - might be the wife upstages the accomplishments of the stubbies!!

That's quite a run Doc...and thanks for being a shutter bug guy. We all get to enjoy the ride through your pictures.

^^ditto^^. Love your pictures and enjoy seeing far away places - I can only hope to hunt out there one day! Good luck to your wife - the longtails are addicting - we're accidentally (ha ha) up to 3 now. They outnumber the GSP and Vizsla now.

How do you like/compare the longtail to the shorthairs?

She's been a bit slower to come along, thought she would never point anything running thru every bird in SE Idaho but out of the blue one day last year I found her standing a covey of huns and hasn't bumped a bird since. Getting quite a few NP's from her at the moment I think just being a bit cautious after being broke. She is a retrieving machine which has taken me by surprise. I like her, she's fun.

Geez, don't encourage me with the shutter bug/picture thing. Took the camera with me today and took some shots:

Jane pointing a "covey" of 3 huns with Bugs looking on:

My camera shooting is as bad as my shotgun shooting and missed 'em on the flush trying to keep a pretty good eye on Jane right now with the manners thing:

Bugsy with a cool find on 3 sharptails:

Scoots on a single sharpie:

Scoots with cool find on pair of sharpies - they lifted right as I put my camera down, would have made an awesome shot if I could have caught it:
