I am told it will be available to the public sometime in April thru Hubbard feed dealer networks.
The breeder I use is partially involved with developing and promoting Kinetic and I had the chance to try a bag last fall
Very positive results and was able to cut back some from what I was feeding at the time.
They will have a booth at Pheasant Fest in Milwaukee this weekend.
They have a where to buy link: http://kineticdogfood.com
Anxious to start using this feed soon.

Re: KINETIC Dog Food?
Is it a spin off of Native dog food, as that stuff was expensive and I could never feed my dogs as thier stools were really loose.

Re: KINETIC Dog Food?
Kinetic is a Hubbard made dog feed. Looks good on paper and from a well respected feed mfg. Again, this is not a feed mfg that has any ties to the Native brand(made by Kent) or others you're thinking. Hubbard is Hubbard. Not Kent or Nutrena.

I'm really excited about this feed. Not sure what the price point is going to be as of yet, but can almost guarantee it will be competitive with the leading brands. Dog did really well on my 40 lb sample. Cut back a full half a cup using the 30/20 formula and he maintained weight really well during hunting season.

So you saying they fixed this? I used to buy native by the pallet but got sick of hosing down kennels. Dogs did good on it. Had a chance to buy kinetic when they first started making it for $38 a bag if I bought a pallet. This was almost 2 years ago. Assuming it will sell for $45-$50?- bag at the store.

Re: KINETIC Dog Food?
I asked Doc E (a certified nutritionist) what he thought.
Here's what he told me :
KINETIC dog food
"Fish Meal" is very generic. What kind of fish ? Ocean fish ? Fresh water fish ? Wild or farm raised ?
How are the fish preserved PRIOR to arriving at the KINETIC factory ?
"Ground Flaxseed" is certainly better than whole flaxseed, but the Omega-3 that it contains is ALA. Only a small portion (10% to 15%) is converted into EPA and none is converted into DHA. The label lists the % of Omega-6 and the % of Omega-3, but there is no breakdown of ALA -- EPA -- DHA.
What the heck are "Natural Flavors" ? Everything in the world has a 'natural flavor'. Many 'natural flavors' contain chemicals which may or may not be healthful.

And there you have an internet solution that is here say from a human nutritionist supposedly. Think I would much sooner just use the info that the company puts out since they are required by law to not mis-lead you with false claims or misleading statements.
I think most of us have listen to Doc E before and know how he operates.

He has no dog in this fight. He didn't even know that this question about KINETIC was posted on this forum.
I emailed him and asked his opinion about the food -- I posted his answer.
Sometimes it's easy to see why he doesn't post here anymore.

Looks like a good food. If you can't trust the company it doesn't matter whether it says 'fish meal' or "North Sea Whole Herring".Del Lolo wrote:I asked Doc E (a certified nutritionist) what he thought.

The world has bigger problems than worrying about whether a dog is getting a certain species of fish.

So are you saying that a farm raised salmon is as healthy for consumption as one that is wild caught ?MonsterDad wrote: Looks like a good food. If you can't trust the company it doesn't matter whether it says 'fish meal' or "North Sea Whole Herring".
Do you think that fish that are preserved with ethoxyquin at sea are as healthy as fish that are frozen at sea before they get to the manufacturer ?

For all practical purposes the answer is yes. If there was a discernible difference they would have to be labeled different. In my book I would much sooner have the meal my dog is eating be good with a VERY small amount of a preservative rather than have the meal be spoiled. That is why we started using preservatives in the first place, for the well being of your animals. So are you saying that a farm raised salmon is as healthy for consumption as one that is wild caught ?

Re: KINETIC Dog Food?
I was not commenting on the type of preservative. Just because it says "fish meal" doesn't mean it is artificially preserved. What it means is that the ingredient is multi-species. I could really care less whether the fish was menhaden, or herring, or sand eel or sardine or any other fish so long as the quality is good. More than likely it is Menhaden fish in this food which is just fine.Del Lolo wrote:So are you saying that a farm raised salmon is as healthy for consumption as one that is wild caught ?MonsterDad wrote: Looks like a good food. As to whether it is farm raised or wild, I would always prefer a wild fish for myself and my family but for a dog....nah. I like the taste of wild salmon much better and I like the taste of pastured beef much better too, but last time I checked the dog didn't have an opinion.
Re: KINETIC Dog Food?
Do you even have a clue as to what ethoxyquin even is ? As long as it is applied to the fish PRIOR to arriving at the factory, it will not be listed on the label.ezzy333 wrote:And lets hope it stays that waySometimes it's easy to see why he doesn't post here anymore.

Ice or freezing the fish costs more, but it prevents spoilage and does not harm our dogs.

i have an idea -- Why don't you put up a POLL....
Question 1 = Were Doc E's posts educational and you'd like for him to come back
or
Question 2 = Were his posts usless and he should stay away
If #1 wins, you should invite him back along with a Public Apology
If #2 wins, he will stay away -- and everyone will be happy
Give it a try and let's see the results

Re: KINETIC Dog Food?
I'm worried about what the true facts and results people have seen. I have only one dog to feed, not a whole string -I'm not worried about price if it works. I want to give the best I can to the dog I chose and am focusing on. I usually feed Pro Plan Performance but the rating are horrible on it, and she doesn't eat it now. The last three bags I purchased the food was all different shades of brown (from super light in one bag and dark brown in others, also smelled different). I tasted it, all to make sure it wasn't bad.
I have switched to Native recently and still need to see how she adapts to it. She seems to eat faster and not pick at it now thats for sure. I was just wondering about Kinetic.

Re: KINETIC Dog Food?
I am curious about what ratings you are talking about? I have never seen any other than ones put out by a company or someone with little knowledge and an agenda they are promoting, usually their own feed.

You know : "You said, "I think most of us have listen to Doc E before and know how he operate.

Nor did you answer : "Do you even have a clue as to what ethoxyquin even is ? As long as it is applied to the fish PRIOR to arriving at the factory, it will not be listed on the label".
Are you ignoring me just because Doc E is my friend or what

I'm not ignoring you but haven't figured out what your questions have to do with Kinetic Dog Food. Oh and I do know what Ethoxyquin is. We always bought it in 50 lbs. bag but then it was determined to not be good for some animals so we quit using it. But at low amounts it is still considered to be safe so it is still being used where necessary.

Ground sorghum........I don't recall ever seeing that listed on any of the foods I considered. It is pretty high up on the ingredient lists too. Not saying good or bad, just interesting to me I guess.
Re: KINETIC Dog Food?
This thread is a year old so I don't know if it is still being made and sold in many places. Ground sorghum has almost the same feeding value of corn once it is ground. The seed is so hard it can pass through many animals without being broken down and digested. Are you sure it said ground and not grain?

To answer the question, yes there are several of us who run NSTRA and AKC events in the Midwest feeding it. The winning brittany in the amateur gun dog stakes was fueled by it last weekend. It's a good feed like many others. I left Native because of the stool issues over a year ago and tried different feeds before trying Kinetic. I am glad to say Kinetic does not have that issue.

Re: KINETIC Dog Food?
There is really only one way to know if Kinetic dog food will work for you and that is to try it for a length of time. There are many good dog feeds out there and many opinionated people. This is what fuels all the different brands.
Re: KINETIC Dog Food?
Been feeding Kinetic for about 3 months now. I'm feeding less and keeping the weight were I want it on 3 dogs spanning 5 years to 8 months old. This is essentially an upgraded Native dog food, the creators of Kinetic were the original developers of Native. Kent feeds changed the ingredients in native as cost saving measure and that led to the stool issue, why I stopped feeding Native. Right now Kinetic is still a little spendy but with the brand growing they are ankle to bring the price down by being able to purchase ingredients in higher quantities.

Kent and Hubbard feeds, makers of Kinetic are not affiliated in any way.
Kinetic is not some revamped version of Native.
