NAVHDA and Tracking Collars
Am I allowed to run a Garmin Astro DC 50 tracking collar on my dog during his NA test?
Re: NAVHDA and Tracking Collars
I don't think you are allowed to run any e-device on a dog in NAVHDA. I have yet to see one on a dog.RichK wrote:Am I allowed to run a Garmin Astro DC 50 tracking collar on my dog during his NA test

From the NAVHDA test booklet:
"During the search or any other part of the test, the dog is not allowed to wear an electronic beeper collar or any other type of electronic device or imitation thereof."

Thanks for the info. AKC hunt tests they are ok for?
Re: NAVHDA and Tracking Collars
IF the club okays wearing a tracker in their hunt test, you can run with the collar(DC40) on, but the astro has to be turned off until the dog is no longer under judgement. I do not know if AKC has approved the DC50 collar yet---best you call the performance people and find out for sure if the DC50 collar is legal---it usually takes the AKC awhile after things come out before it gets approved.
Re: NAVHDA and Tracking Collars
DC50 is NOT approved for AKC events.

in hunt tests you can use a tracking device but, as has already been stated, the DC 50 has not been aproved yet.
