A unusual retrieve

Post by Legband » Fri Feb 13, 2015 7:04 pm

Took a young hunter out today it's his first year.
He winged a Chucker and it flew off pretty strong.
He was very discouraged.
No worries I told him Livy will get it , she has no quit in her.
But I didn't figure this.
She's such a show off.

That reminds me of a dog I had that ran up on top of a shed roof that had collapsed to the ground.A friend & I were training on a pheasant farm yrs ago & he hollered at me to come look he said what is she doing I said she's on point he said no way what is she pointing,I climbed up enough to look inside & there in the rafters set 3 or 4 quail.I'd give anything to have a pic of that but it was before digital cameras & 35 mm were too big & clumsy to pack around.

That is an awesome effort! ....love the relentlessness! Can't train that into a dog.
As an aside, this bird wasn't shot with 7 1/2s was it? It looks like it's still alive.
Like the look of your dog too. Flashy!! Thanks for sharing.

I'm not sure , who knows what he may have had in is bag.
I think it was probably shot in the back side because it really busted out of the brush.
