Forbid Anti-Poop eating powder...

Post by mtlee » Mon Jan 07, 2008 5:31 pm

I just got a few packets in the mail in hopes of breaking my new pup of this habit. The packet says "1/2 packet twice a day" for their weights. I only feed them once a day. Should I empty a whole packet in each of their dishes at feeding time or just a 1/2??

It was the only stuff that works

A couple of Bobs EP's were eating their poop

On little pups i will use a half pack but any thing over 4 months it is a full pack if needed

and do a minimum of 7 days straight

soe times you need a little reminder but for the most part it has worked the best

I have used Adolph's meat tenderizer with some luck. Best thing I have found is the e-collar. Watch them through the window and when their nose touches the poop give them a tap.

Tabasco sauce cured the first GSP Only took 2 times. Yea i looked like a idiot running around the yard sprinkling Tabasco on poo but I was tired of it. Forbid didn't work with the old girl and the young girl is on it right now 3rd day. It isn't looking good. I better make another run to Sams Club for the big bottle.

I always find this a little bit funny but , I'm sure if you have a dog with this problem it is not funny at all especially if you like to give your dog kisses.

You have to admit a product that makes "poop" taste bad is funny. I think poop would taste bad on it's own. There is a comedian that does a bit on this product. "Making Poop taste bad."

mtlee Did this work for you. I have to admit when I originally read this post I was like" wow I am lucky my dogs dont do that" well Piper just started doing it last week and I think the little Cav is learning from her. Is this something you have to keep doing or do they learn not to do it and never do it again?

Also do you think she started doing it because she may need vitamins or maybe going in to heat?

Some of our dogs will eat poop from time to time. I had a lab mix who ate a steady diet of turds her whole life - and she lived to be almost 15. The dog was nearly bulletproof, never had a thing wrong with her, except the bad breath.

She was a connoisseur: she would hunt around for a turd that was just the right age, and in her last couple of years actually "cellared" turds by collecting them lining them up on a rock behind the barn and check on them until they were just right. She would eat no poop before its time...

They especially like 'em frozen - "poopsicles" we call 'em.

And we've tried everything to get them to stop, and short of a racing muzzle there's not a whole lot that will stop a dog that's bent on chowing down on a butt nugget.

I don't know if we've tried the Forbid stuff, I'll have to see if it works.

Thats hilarious. We had a real cold snap the day she started and I called them poopcilcles too. I know it wont hurt her but it is gross. And she is starting to wait on the Cav to go so she can get a fresh one which IMO makes it that much more gross.
