Litters in South Africa

Post by bhulisa » Fri Feb 01, 2008 11:03 am

I just wanted to brag on some frozen semen litters that we have/are breeding in the last year, and to thank everyone who helped get the semen and these litters on the ground over here in South Africa! So this is a brag for them, too, as well as a big thanks.

Rick and Brenda, aka Snips, can vouch for how difficult it can be to import anything to do with dogs over here. It was no small feat getting this organized, not to mention all the trips to the vets for semen collections made by Rick/Brenda, John Rock and Ryan Queesenbury. And thanks to Dave Quindt for putting us in touch with John Rock.

1. DC and 3X NSTRA CH Gamble’s Odyssey Fritz MH UT(II) RD x CH Bhulisa Trekkers Legacy. We had 6 pups from this frozen semen litter. All pups in hunting homes and 5 will be trialling in 2008.

2. FC/AFC Caden’s Coupe Deville x Bhulisa Serengeti. Another 6 pups in this litter, which is currently 15 weeks old! All pups in hunting homes and all will have a go at field trialling when it’s time.

3. ???? (we hope) NFC/FC/AFC Dunfur’s Where You Ben x Bhulisa Masai Mara.

These litters are the result of about 12 years of breeding and importing what we consider to be excellent bird dogs for our conditions. The Cooper and Ben litters are 3rd generation imported semen breedings. I’ll try to provide a link to the pedigrees (not very good at this yet). Maybe I can even get some pictures up.

Thanks for letting me brag, even if it is all the way over here in Africa..

Trudi

Just get on here and ramble because the stuff you like is mine and msot of the males came right out of my yard and were bred at my house.

Hoosier Buddy was such a treasure and he justed loved to sit in the basement of the house with me and hang out. A true pet. His daughter Pepper (Ben's sister) is the same way. Just my girl and is wonderful.

Keep up the good work, I am really interested.

Hi Hotpepper
We’re really excited about the two newest litters with Cooper and Ben! This is the first time we’ve used them and we can’t wait to see the pups. We’re thrilled with what we are getting from Fritz!

I’ve got the pedigrees together – just hope I can get the links working so you can see what we are working with. There’s no easy way to designate whether the dogs are US or SA, but if you see bhulisa in front of the names you’ll know we bred it here. The prominent US dogs you will know anyway. We’ve bred 2 frozen semen litters previously, so the offspring was not imported but was bred here, from DC Trekker and DC Bodo.
