Judging from the poll being done over at the SSBB, many hunters are unaware of the health certificates that are required when traveling with their dogs. Here's what I found with a short search....
ALL states require a current certificate of proof of vaccination against rabies. If you are traveling in ANY state with your dogs, you must have this certificate.
Many states also require an in hand health certificate for any dog being transported through that state. These certificates are filled out by your own vet and most will be dated from within 10 days to 6 months of travel.
You can check with any states animal health division and their requirements by contacting them ...

So what's it take to get your dog it's own seat on a plane? Does it have to be a celebrity dog or does it just need CGC? I don't know that I would pay the extra ticket, but I did see someone bring a dog on the plane and it layed down under the seat in front of him and you would of never known the dog was there. It was a mid-size dog too and very well behaved. I never did get a chance to talk to the owner though.

Was it some kind of companion dog... was the owner disabled in any way?
That would be my only guess.
