Puppy Broken Toe (P3- back right pinkie toe)
My 14 week old Setter has a broken toe- I opted out of the splint. (Vet wanted to put him under to apply it- that seemed extreme and very pricy for a remedy he's probably going to chew off anyway and it's not a weight bearing toe.) I did bandage his foot and am changing that, giving him pain med./anti-inflammatory med, and trying to keep him quiet. Now the reason he probably has a broken toe is because he's a nut-so dare-devil, keeping him off it/crated and away from my other dog for the next 4 weeks is going to be nuts. Ideas from someone that's been there? (A bored dog is never a good thing in my mind.)

I have had success by taping one toe to the next. I would stay away from pain meds in this case.

Good thought, I feel like a jerk not giving pain medicine but it's hard to get him to slow down- ESP. If he feels great.
