Durdens Labrador Retrievers

Our Mission is to breed some of the finest Labrador Retrievers in central Louisiana.

Welcome to Durdens Labrador Retrievers. Thank you for allowing me to give you a little more information about ourselves.  My name is Tony and I was born in Georgia, raised in South Carolina and attended college in Missouri where I received my AAS degree in CAD/D.  I've been involved with Labs since I was in high school.  My wifes name is Kim and she is a native of Louisiana, attended Tioga High School and has been involved with the breed since 2004.  We live in Lecompte, La and have two of the finest pedigreed Labs in central Louisiana.  We currently have puppies in Missouri and Illinois. They are retrieving from boats, doing land & water retrieves, being professionally trained, travelling to South Dakota, graduating top of their class in Obedience and making wonderful companions.

We believe that the strength of pedigree and genetic health are the most important factors in producing quality Labs. Proven performers and producers that exhibit lots of natural ability is what we have in our pedigrees. This approach enables us to offer a predictable quality Labrador puppy that is as comfortable in competition as it is in the field.  Our goal is to enhance some of the finest bloodlines of the Labrador Retriever in history. Some of these lines include Rushcreek Retrievers out of South Carolina, Buccleuch Gundogs at Queensberry Estate Office in Drumlanrig Mains, Shamrock Acres out of Wisconsin, and more. We have such names as: NFC AFC San Joaquin Honcho, FC AFC Trumarc's Raider and NFC Whygin Cork's Coot (all in the Hall of Fame); as well as CH Could Be's Black Angus, CH Could Be's Charolais, CH Shamrock Acres Sonic Boom, CH Shamrock Acres One Way Ticket and CH Whygin Gold Bullion, to name a few; not to mention that both our male and female are direct descendents of the first Labradors - Malmesbury Tramp (1878) and Bucchleuch Avon (1885). Extensive research was done to ensure that our Labs came from the original, non-mixed, multi-champion lines.

We achieve the balance of memory, intelligence, courage, and perseverance; those attributes that define the field Lab; as well as genetically sound, good looking, loyal, and friendly Labrador puppies. You get the best of both show and field quality in our pups. We breed mainly for hunting, companion, and agility. However, there are show quality pups available. We believe in providing the true all-around Labrador Retriever.  We believe that the initial training a pup receives is a necessity of the mature retriever. Because of this we keep a list of local trainers that can provide programs ranging from basic obedience to advanced retrieving.
